John J. Bennett
John J. Bennett has performed as pianist and organist with the Omaha Symphony, Omaha Chamber Music Society and Omaha Chamber Singers, and has also appeared as pianist with the Dale Warland Singers. John has been affiliated with Opera Omaha as associate conductor and coach for Lucia di Lammermoor starring Beverly Sills and Samuel Ramey and concluding with an exhilarating few seasons as chorusmaster for maestri Hal France and Stewart Robertson. During his 15 year tenure as music director for the Omaha Community Playhouse, John directed numerous shows and cabarets. Since 1976, his musical score for the popular production of A Christmas Carol has been performed at the Playhouse, as well as touring nationally. He is currently a collaborative pianist and coach for undergraduate and graduate singers in the department of music at University of Nebraska at Omaha and is an original member of the artistic team for Résonance, serving as vocal coach and collaborative pianist.
