January 27, 2017 Contact: Tara Cowherd, Executive Director (402) 212-8876 RÉSONANCE INVITES PUBLIC TO MASTER CLASSES IN MOVEMENT AND VOCAL PERFORMANCE Omaha Talent Roxanne Nielsen and Terry Hodges Featured Instructors Omaha, NE – Have you ever imagined yourself performing on the musical stage? Résonance, Omaha’s premier vocal ensemble, opens a curtain into how the pros get to the next level of excellence. Watch as Roxanne Nielsen, a high-profile, long-time Omaha choreographer, dance instructor and coach, puts the singers through a series of movements designed to improve their many and varied musical presentations. “We’re not professional dancers, but we are professional performers,” says Résonance co-founder and executive director Tara Cowherd. “Roxanne will work with members of Résonance and participants, and share some tricks of the trade on crafting onstage movement.” Even professional singers can benefit from the experience of a world-class opera performer. Bass-baritone Terry Hodges, who launched his nearly 30-year operatic career here in Omaha, will work with selected singers from the Résonance ensemble and constructively critique, offering tips and ideas for improvement. “Excellence is a journey, not a destination,” shares A. Barron Breland, music director of the ensemble. “As performers, we are constantly honing our craft and enjoying the consistent refining.” The public is invited to attend and participate in the Movement Master Class with Nielsen on Saturday, February 4 at 10:00 a.m. at SNJ Studio of Music, 5244 S 136th Street, Omaha, NE 68137 and observe the Vocal Master Class with Hodges on Friday, February 17 at 7:00 p.m. at SNJ Studio of Music.
